About Camp Amos
Our mission is to strengthen families and communities in Chiapas by providing family-style homes for people who need them and livelihood training for the local community.
Our vision is a Chiapas where every person, family, and community has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our Values
Presence
We believe that our work is a participation in the movement of God’s Kingdom. God’s Presence is our foundation; we are deeply rooted in Christ and driven by the conviction that our efforts should reflect the heart of heaven. We do not work in our own strength, but are facilitated by the love of God, seeking to align our vision for Chiapas with His restorative purposes.
Identity
We believe that every individual—staff, resident, and neighbor—is an image-bearer of Christ. Identity is the recognition of this inherent dignity. We foster an environment where people can grow in integrity, trust, and initiative. By understanding our worth in God, we are empowered to work autonomously, lead with character, and reach our full potential as individuals.
Community
We believe that transformation happens within the context of belonging. At Camp Amos, we are more than a program; we are a home. Community means fostering a family-style environment defined by love, trust, and service. We are committed to building deep, lasting partnerships that strengthen the social fabric of Chiapas.
Stewardship
We believe that we are called to be faithful caretakers of our staff, as well as the people, resources, and land entrusted to our care. Stewardship is a commitment to restoration and excellence. We work with diligence and professionalism to rebuild what is ruined and plant for the future, ensuring that every investment results in a sustainable, flourishing impact for the next generation.
Growing Together
Our faith inspires us to help foster flourishing families and connected communities across Chiapas, Mexico.
We believe that restoration is always possible. And we know that when people have the resources they need and a community they can trust, families can thrive.
“They will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. They will plant vineyards and gardens; they will eat their crops and drink their wine.”
